Ashcan School

The Ashcan School (Ash Can School) was an american artistic movement in the early twentieth century. The artists included in the movement are famous for their realistic paintings often portraying daily life in some of New York’s poorer areas.
 
Famous artists of the Ashcan School were Robert Henri, George Luks, William Glackens, John Sloan and Everett Shinn.
