Björn Dawidsson (Dawid) (1949-) Sweden

Dawid is a Swedish photographer considered to be one of the foremost in the profession. Dawid works with conceptual photography and was one of the first in the genre. In 1983 he had an exhibition called “Rost” (Rust) at Fotografiska Museet (Swedish Museum of Photography), which proved to be his breakthrough. At first, Dawid’s photographs simply appear to show beauty, but a closer look shows they are deeper, as though the object in the photograph connotes new values. The photos undergo a metamorphosis, which is the hallmark of Dawid’s photographs.
