Gert Marcus was a Swedish painter and sculptor, known for his large works in media such as mosaic. Marcus briefly studied under Otto Sköld, but is essentially self-taught.
He was one of Sweden's foremost Concretists and availed himself of so-called pure colors, without using black or white. Marcus also explored the use of volume and space, but without necessarily applying a Renaissance perspective. Marcus’ works are represented in many places in Sweden such as Sergels Torg in Stockholm and outside Norrköping Art Museum.
