Jackson Pollock (1912-1956) USA

Jackson Pollock was an American artist and a seminal figure in abstract expressionism. Pollock was also one of the founders of action painting, which involves the artist splashing and dribbling paint onto the canvas, rather than using brushes. He developed a method that was later dubbed the “drip technique” in which he dripped paint onto a canvas that was spread out on the floor. Pollock used hardened brushes and sticks to create effects, sometimes even punching a hole in his paint container in order to produce a single, long line.
Pollock died in a car accident at the age of 44.
