Le Corbusier (1887-1965)

Charles Edouard Jeanneret, more known as Le Corbusier was a self taught artist, writer and architect. He is seen upon as one of the most prominent theoretician of modernism together with Walter Gropius and Mies vand der Rohe. Some of Le Corbusier achievements are the government buildings and city plan for Chandigarh, India, residential house in Marseille, France and a utopian cityplan for Paris, France. He also designed furniture which to this date is highly sought after. Examples of models are the LC-models i.e ”Long chair”, ”Sling chair”, ”Swivel chair” and ”Swivel stool”.
