Nils Fougstedt (1881-1954)

Nils Fougstedt was a Swedish sculptor and craftsman. Together with Estrid Ericson, Fougstedt opened a pewter workshop, which was the foundation of Svenskt Tenn. Fougstedt designed several beautiful pieces for Svenskt Tenn. Over time, his style evolved from 1920s classicism to a moderate functionalism, with straight, polished surfaces. Fougstedt is an icon in the world of Swedish pewter, but he also worked in silver, bronze and gold. He was probably the first person to combine pewter and brass at Svenskt Tenn.
