Philippe Starck is a French designer born in Paris. After his studies at the École Camondo in Paris, Starck started his own design company in 1968. Since then, he has had a successful career as a designer, and has designed furniture and various interior design items.
Starck’s designs are simple and streamlined, sometimes humoristic, and often work with materials like chrome, brushed metal, and plastic. Starck has collaborated with design companies like Alessi, Vitra and Kartell. Nowadays, he also works as an architect and has designed many hotels worldwide and has created different design concepts for numerous luxury restaurants, and also designs interiors for boats and ships.
