Ulysse Nardin

Over 170 years ago, Swiss watchmaker Ulysse Nardin founded his company making precise marine chronometers. Nardin's pocket and marine chronometers found commercial success, and were exported to North, Central and South America. After over a century of countless awards and world records, businessman Rolf Schnyder took control of the company with the creative guidance of watchmaker Ludwig Oechslin. Though the focus on precision mechanics and technology continued, a new focus on design was introduced. Today, Ulysse Nardin manufactures some of the most unique and remarkable timepieces on the market. In 1989, the brand launch the 'San Marco Minute Repeater', reintroducing the 17th century invention of the jacquemart - a bellstriker - on a smaller scale. The sonorous elements of the minute repeater are visually complemented by striking scenes; the 'Genghis Khan Minute Repeater' model emulates a masterpiece painting, recreating the founder and emperor of the Mongol Empire embroiled in battle.
