Irish Interest - Frederick Buck, (Cork, 1771- c.1839) - George III portrait miniature on ivory depicting Ann d'Esterre (nee Ellard, 1770-1813), daughter of James and Elizabeth Ellard of Fairyfield and Newtown Ellard Co. Limerick, second wife of Henry d'Esterre (IV) of Rossmanagher and Clonmackin, modelled half length in an Empire line dress, apparently unsigned, inscribed in ink in cursive script verso 'Mrs d'Esterre Rosmanagher Co. Clare, Ireland / née Ann[e] Ellard', 66mm x 54mm, in unmarked 'rose gold' oval frame with suspension loop Sold with APHA permit: 7EEZ3K3H See Irish Genealogical Society, https://www.irishancestors.ie/files/579-1-1-0O2G6AYGMsIuQcgcJyuc.pdf where (p.724) it is stated: "Henry d'Esterre (IV) of Rossmanagher and Clonmackin entered TCD on 27 May 1776 aged 18. He was called to the Irish Bar in 1785 and was several times Recorder of Limerick and Mayor in 1793 and 1794. He married firstly at Limerick on 18 November 1788 Elizabeth daughter of Thomas Vereker of Roxborough and sister of the second Viscount Gort. She died on 25 May 1793 leaving one surviving son... Henry d'Esterre (IV) married secondly (marriage settlement 9 February 1796) Anne daughter of James Ellard of Fairyfield and Newtown Ellard Co. Limerick. She died on 4 February 1813 at Clonmackin after a long illness, having had three sons and three daughters." Upon her death, the Limerick Chronicle reported "Anne was of sweet disposition, amiable manners, affable and engaging". She was buried at Sixmilebridge, County Clare.
