Second Intermediate Period Ca. 1700 - 1550 BC A pair of Egyptian steatite scarab. The first is a steatite scarab from ancient Egypt, ca. 1700-1550 BC. It bears several pseudo-hieroglyphic luck symbols, including two protective udjat-eyes above an ankh or life symbol and Nebu (gold) and nefer (goodness, beauty) signs. The second bears various pseudo-hieroglyphic luck symbols, including four sa-symbols and two prominent ka�s Two crowns of Lower Egypt flank the composition. Size: 14-19mm x 9-13mm; Weight: 3g. Provenance: Private London collection; acquired in Switzerland; formerly with C.B. collection, 1970s-1990s. Studied by PD Dr. habil. Pieter Gert van der Veen, Johannes Gutenberg-Universit�t Mainz.
