ROGER DOYLE, A KUNZITE, DIAMOND AND SEED PEARL NECKLACE The seed pearl torsade with conical caps accented with two rows of brilliant cut diamonds, suspending a detachable pendant, the oval cut kunzite in a facetted rock crystal frame, to a crown shaped surmount and cap with enamel accents and seed pearl tassel drop, unmarked, fitted case by Roger Doyle London Size/dimensions: necklace 40.0cm, pendant 8.5cm long Gross weight: 67.6 grams Accompanied by a signed original drawing of the pendant Roger Doyle (b. 1947) is an award-winning designer renowned for his work in both jewellery and silverware, with pieces held in the prestigious collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum. He began his career at the Central School of Arts and Crafts in London, undertaking a pre-apprenticeship course that led to a five-year apprenticeship at Cartier starting in 1963. A key milestone in Doyle's career was his collaboration with Louis Osman on the creation of the Investiture Crown for the then HRH Prince of Wales, now King Charles III. He also worked closely with celebrated engraver Malcolm Appleby. Reflecting on his creative process, Doyle has said: "I like to explore textures, colours, and new materials and the challenges they create. My main sources of inspiration are organic forms and their complexities, architecture, and engineering." Condition Report: Lot 29 is designed to also be worn suspended from this necklace as an interchangeable option. Overall in good condition with normal signs of wear. Some discolouration to seed pearl strands where pendant hangs. Some tarnish to clasp. Enamel in good condition. Kunzite of a light purplish pink hue with light saturation and good transparency.
