Artwork n.581 Clutched the clothes (n.581) - Dolls series Dimensions: 85,00 x 85,00 (cm) This piece is unique and original. Unframed; shipped rolled. I create paintings using acrylic paints and thousands of small pieces of recycled paper: everyday paper becomes art instead of ending up in the trash. Series "Not your doll" - In my latest works I have focused on the theme of women treated as objects (dolls) and too often victims of violence, and these are the latest works created. On these little scraps of paper you can read words and phrases scattered here and there. It often happens when we really approach another person: sometimes we read their secret messages, sometimes not. "Not your doll" - "I am not your doll" is a series where I intend to represent female faces with features reminiscent of the most classic dolls and the message is: "even if I look like a real doll, I am not a doll, your doll and you can do whatever you want with me" with all that lies behind, which unfortunately leads to violence. The surface presents small reliefs and I love to caress it, to feel it... I also use acrylic resin on the surface, which gives a glossy effect and protects the colors from sunlight and dust. This piece is unique and original. Each piece is packaged securely, wrapped and protected for worldwide shipping, with the Certificate of Authenticity included. I use the courier provided directly by Catawiki and a tracking number will be provided. This piece will be shipped unframed and unstretched as the work will be shipped rolled. The canvas is larger than the painted dimensions because the extra surface is useful and necessary in order to stretch the canvas on a frame. It is advised to have the work stretched and mounted by a trusted professional who can also advise on a suitable frame. Images showing the work in interior settings are for illustration purposes only and proportions may appear different. The actual dimensions are those indicated in the description. Different light sources can give different colors to the photos. For more photos and information, contact me! Thank you. *** IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR INTERNATIONAL BUYERS (NON-EU): Customs duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item's price or shipping costs. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. The amount should be between 10% and 20% of the artwork's value. Born in 1974 I am self-taught. After an early period devoted to sculpture there was a prolonged hiatus lasting almost twenty years. Since December 2014 I have returned to the "two dimensions" for reasons of time and space, leaving sculpture behind and dedicating myself to acrylic paintings. I love painting abstract landscapes but recently I have been pushing myself to paint also faces of people, both imagined and real. For me, painting is about "stopping time" in that exact moment; a painting of mine is often a faded memory and therefore my works are "consumed, eroded by time". Sometimes the subject of my paintings is a corner of walls also eroded by time, with moss and mushrooms that—over time—grow on the surface. The passage of time is the main theme of my works. Coming from a wonderful experience with clay manipulation, I love sculpture, the third dimension, the sense of touch and my paintings are often characterized by reliefs that are clearly perceptible both to the touch and to the naked eye. In this recent period, after several years in which my works were made from little pieces of recycled paper forming figures, I am pushing myself to explore Optical Art where I use painted wooden discs arranged in lines and grids with mathematical precision that, when viewed up close, seem to form an abstract, colorful painting, but the more you move away, the more a portrait figure emerges from the 768 painted wooden discs. Violence against women is a theme that characterizes almost all of my works when I reproduce female faces, precisely to give them a voice when they do not have the strength or courage to report that they are not their partner's dolls and cannot be mistreated or, worse, victims of violence. *** Below are recent exhibitions: Solo shows: 2017 Solo exhibition / Maison des Arts - Pescara, Italy Group shows: Naarden The Art Fair / Amsterdam - Naarden, Netherlands 2026 Affordable Art Fair Amsterdam / De Kromhouthal, Gedempt Hamerkanaal 231, 1021 KP Amsterdam, Netherlands - Amsterdam, Netherlands 2025 X Edition of MumArt "Homage to Costantino Barbella" / Michetti Museum - Francavilla al Mare, Italy 2020 Andy Warhol And Friends / Art Events Mazzoleni Art Gallery - Alzano Lombardo (BG), Italy 2019 "Freedom in Visual Arts – Second Edition" / Mumi - Michetti Museum - Francavilla al Mare (CH), Italy 2019 Internationale Art Price - Tamara De Lempika / Milano Art Gallery - Milan, Italy 2018 Archipelago #2 / Galeri Sveva - Stockholm, Sweden 2018 Dialogue Across Generations / Castel dell'Ovo - Naples, Italy 2018 The Magical Shades of Time / Aurum Arts - Pescara, Italy 2017 In obstinate and contrary direction / Simultánea Spazi Arte - Florence, Italy 2017 World Wide Art Show – New York 2017 / 508/526 West 26th Street, Suite 315, New York, NY 10001 - New York, United States 2017 Freedom in visual arts / Michetti Museum - Francavilla al Mare, Italy 2016 Introspective Shades / Arte Borgo Gallery - Rome, Italy 2016 Caput Mundi Arte / Palazzo Ferrajoli - Rome, Italy 2016 Art Salerno 2016 / Palazzo Fruscione - Salerno, Italy 2016 Art Rome / Flyer Art Gallery - Rome, Italy 2016 Artist's Weavings / Merlino Bottega d'Arte Gallery - Florence, Italy 2015
