North America, United States (Florida find), Miocene epoch. An impressive fossil whale vertebrae column mounted on a custom wood and metal stand, presenting a dramatic sense of scale and presence. The sequence of large, mineralized vertebrae retains rugged surface texture and natural coloration, each segment showing the weight and structure of a prehistoric marine giant. The elongated form stretches nearly five feet in length, creating a striking display that evokes the immense size of ancient whales. A commanding and sculptural fossil specimen, ideal as a centerpiece for a collection or interior display. Size of spine: 58" L (147.3 cm); 27" H (68.6 cm) on included custom stand; largest vertebra: 8.5" L x 7" W (21.6 cm x 17.8 cm) This item is a fossilized whale vertebra dating to the Miocene epoch and is mineralized, not modern bone; however, international shipping of fossil material may be subject to customs review and varying import regulations depending on the destination country. We will accurately declare the item as a fossil specimen, but delays or restrictions may occur, and any duties, permits, or additional documentation required are the responsibility of the buyer. Additionally, buyers are responsible for ensuring that their purchase complies with all local laws and regulations concerning ivory. We guarantee that this piece meets the criteria for an ESA antique exemption under U.S. Federal law, however, we advise buyers to consult with their local authorities to confirm their ability to legally acquire, possess, trade, or sell this item in your state of residence.
