Ilmari Tapiovaara (1914–1999) Finland

Ilmari Tapiovaara was a Finnish interior and furniture designer. His early career after his studies in Helsingfors was as a pupil to Le Corbusier. Examples of Ilmari Tapiovaara Scandinavian design is his famous ”Domus chair” from 1946 also known in America as the Finnchair. Other pieces worth mentioning are the Mademoiselle armchair and his ”Fanette chair”.
