On 7 March, the Chelsea-based Lots Road Auctions is holding their 'Fine Auction' sale. Established in 1979, Lots Road Auctions has made a name for themselves selling high quality antiques and contemporary items at affordable prices. Their upcoming 'Fine Auction' contains an array of first-rate furniture, including sleek Italian designs from the 1950s and beautifully preserved 19th-century pieces. We’ve combed through the catalogue for six top items to watch out for.

Founded in 1966, B&B Italia is a nationally-recognised brand that creates modern furniture with a retro flair. The ‘Dadone’ sofa was designed by Antonio Citterio, and features a rectangular profile with a deep, plush back and wide arms. This model is upholstered in a luxurious orange velvet, making it a perfect match for a trendy 1970s style sitting room.

Recently upholstered in cushy velvet, this set of eight dining chairs is equally perfect for an intimate family dinner or entertaining a crowd. They were made in the 1950s after the style of Paolo Buffa, a prominent Italian designer and architect remembered for combining Art Deco and Neoclassical elements with Modernist sensibilities. The chairs are made of dark wood, and feature elegantly tapered legs and back posts with two carved cross rails.

Another design modelled after Paolo Buffa, this oval dining table is the epitome of understated elegance. The dark marble-like top provides a gentle contrast with the wood, which shows a beautiful natural grain. The sides and sculpted legs are inlaid with thin gold lines, a colour scheme that is continued by the square metal cap at the end of each leg.

Dating from the second quarter of the 19th century, this pair of bombé commodes are made from Spanish mahogany and satinwood with white marble tops. The name refers to the bulbous shape of the sides and back, which was particularly common in Louis XVI-style furniture. Each piece has one rounded frieze drawer, three middle drawers and one short drawer near the base.
Another lovely featured piece is a Syrian bridal chest, which is inlaid with delicate mother of pearl designs. It has a rectangular rising top, and measures 128 cm wide, 97 cm high and 48 cm deep.

Bentley Home has been creating furniture inspired by the iconic silhouettes and luxurious materials of Bentley Motors since 2013. Their Aston pedestal table is characterised by a juxtaposition of forms and materials, notably between the upholstered leather base and thin, polished top. Its unique design is matched by its impressive size, coming in at over 3.6 meters long.
The 'Fine Auction' sale will take place on 7 March at 12pm. The auction is online only, and a live webcast will be available.
