The Rolex Explorer was one of the very first watches to be designed for exploration on treacherous terrains. Under extreme temperatures and with no power source, the watch will continue to work in the toughest conditions.

From the daring to the more dainty, in 1956, the Day-Date was a triumph of design as it was the first watch to have a self-changing day and date indicators. It's no wonder it was a favourite of U.S. Presidents of the 20th century.

Before the Day-Date, there was the DateJust. In 1945, Rolex launched the world's first self-changing watch to coincide with their 40th anniversary.

The Jaeger-Lecoultre Reverso Squadra Night & Day watch is a rather two-faced affair. The clever design features a night and a day face. In Jaeger-Lecoultre's Art Deco style, the watch features a celestial sun and moon pattern. The date aperture sits rather cannily in the 6 o'clock numeral.

The Breitling emergency chronograph was the first wristwatch with a built-in dual frequency Personal Locator Beacon which issues alerts and guides rescue missions. It is the ultimate companion for adventurers and explorers.
