Dawson’s forthcoming ‘Jewellery, Silver & Watches’ sale on 8 December is the auction house’s final sale for 2018. Included is a huge variety of sparkling accessories, from rings and bracelets, to brooches, pendants, earrings, watches, handbags and other accessories, including an exquisite chess seat.
Buckle up and let’s take a look at a few of Dawson’s exciting lots.

This sapphire and diamond demi-parure, including necklace and earrings, are set with natural Burmese sapphires. These exquisite blue sapphires weigh approximately 81 carats in total.

If the necklace and earrings aren’t quite enough and you’d like a ring to match, this sapphire and diamond cluster ring might be the fit. It is set with a fine cornflower blue, cushion-cut natural sapphire of approx. 5.5 to 6.2 carats (estimated in the mount) measuring 11 x 8.7 x 7.8 mm, surrounded with twelve round old brilliant-cut diamonds of approximately 1.68 carats combined. The approximate colour and clarity is H/I, SI1/2, white metal shank unmarked (tests as gold), size J ½. The exquisite ring comes accompanied by a Gem & Pearl laboratory report stating no evidence of heat treatment.

This Graff bracelet is set with round brilliant-cut diamonds weighing approximately 15.5 carats in total. Graff is, of course, a quintessentially British brand. It was founded by Laurence Graff (b. 1938) in 1960 in London, where its current headquarters rest.

Though not exactly in theme with the above jewellery, this chess set would make a superb accessory for any living room and chess enthusiast. The lot is a cased cast silver and silver gilt chess set in the Staunton pattern. It comes within a wood case with a velvet-lined, fitted and compartmentalised interior.
