On 11 August 1976, Elvis Presley bought a Harley Davidson FLH 1200 Electra Glide, the last motorcycle he would purchase before his death almost exactly a year later on 16 August 1977. After his untimely death at age 42, the bike was sold to a nearby Harley Davidson dealership, and since 1984 has been on display behind glass at the Pioneer Auto Museum in Murdo, South Dakota. The custom bike was scarcely ridden by Elvis though and still has just 126 miles on it.

Elvis was a huge fan of motorcycles and owned upwards of 15 throughout his life. Now, his last bike could set a record for the most expensive motorcycle ever sold. It carries an estimate of US$1.75-2 million (£1.45-1.66 mil), with bids starting at US$100,000 (£82,800). The current record is held by a 1951 Vincent Black Lightning, which sold for US$929,000 or £770,000 at Bonham's in January 2018.

The motorcycle will be auctioned by GWS Auctions in Hollywood, California on 31 August 2019 as part of their Artifacts of Hollywood and Music auction. In addition to the motorcycle, Elvis' 1973 Lincoln limo and 1967 GMC Pickup Truck plus other personal items will also be up for bids.
