On Sunday 3 October, Chelsea auction house Lots Road has a diverse and exciting collection of items going under the hammer. From furniture, lighting and collectables, to artworks such as photographs, sculptures, drawings and prints, there’s something to dress and impress every home. Let’s not waste any time and dive in and explore our favourite pieces.

First is this 1970s chrome and brass mirror, measuring 90 cm x 90 cm. The stunning geometric mirror is attributed to prominent Italian designer Romeo Rega.
Born in 1904, Rega is best known for his 1970s furniture that combines glamour with modernism. The Romeo Rega brand was launched in 1969 and produced a swathe of design pieces, from lighting and chairs to tables, cabinets and more. Rega’s work undoubtedly struck a chord with fans of the Hollywood Regency and 1970s design, and the pieces under the brand’s name consequently remain popular worldwide today.

Another design piece, this time inspired by the fashionable look of the ‘70s, is this pair of orangery chairs. The pair measure 94 cm in height and consist of a bamboo design, which is very much in favour this season. One is hard pressed to walk past a London design or antique store or auction house without seeing rattan, Scandinavian-style furniture in the window.

Lastly, we go back in time with this oval medallion portrait of a gentleman. The 19th-century painted plaster measures 65 x 65 cm, and its dual colouring strikes a fashionable look. The marble-style frame with rope finish elevates the piece overall, though the intimate detail is where the true beauty is: within the locks of hair, soft wrinkles and creases in the fabric.
