Nearly 300 sparkling lots are going under the hammer in Ripon, North Yorkshire this week, with Elstob & Elstob’s sale of ‘Silver, Jewellery, Watches and Objects of Vertu’ on Thursday 5 December.
From exquisite silver to tea sets, watches, rings, pendants, brooches, bracelets and more, the sale promises something to flutter all hearts and invoke the envy of all admirers. From the silver portion of the sale is this stunning pair of 1780 George III silver two-light candelabra by John Winter & Co of Sheffield. Each candelabra (40 cm) has twin foliate candle cups on beaded drip trays, which issue from scroll arms and a flanking urn. They are raised on a fluted tapering standard over a stepped circular foot.

And in jewellery, for those looking to give the ultimate gift of love this holiday season, what better way to say ‘I do’ than with a stunning diamond and platinum ring?

A contrary style to the previous ring, this contemporary 18ct yellow gold ring by Rene Kern is raised in a large mount in the form of a four-leaf clover. Each petal is set throughout with diamond highlights with four gemstones and a further brilliant-cut diamond to the centre. It comes on a tapering band with simple beaded details. The ring is stamped 750, signed Kern. Size M 1/2, weight 8.7 grams.

Returning to a more classical style, this diamond brooch and bracelet set are exquisitely art deco in style.
The bracelet’s structured oval detachable mount has five principle-cut diamonds on tapering bracelet formed of thirteen articulated rectangular links, each set to the centre with two brilliant-cut collet set diamond. These are between pierced mounts set throughout with graduating brilliant-cut diamonds on integral tongue clasp. Length of the bracelet is 18 cm, weight 46.7 grams. The detachable brooch has a pin fitting.

This elegant pair of natural saltwater pearl and diamond earrings are fitted in an Asprey & Co box. The pearls are set to the bottom of a line of brilliant-cut diamond highlights with diamond set cap on post and scroll fitting.
Length is 3.5 cm and total weigh 7.8 grams. The earrings are accompanied by a Gemmological Certification Services certificate, dated 25.10.2018 and numbered 79184-10, stating that the pearls are natural saltwater with no evidence of heat treatment.
