On 8 December, Tajan is holding two unmissable sales: the first for fine jewellery, and the second for watches and timepieces. With brands such as Cartier, Rolex, Patek Phillippe, Hermés and Jaeger-LeCoultre making appearances in the catalogue, luxury is the name of the game. The jewellery selection is especially robust, and with over 400 antique, vintage and modern pieces there is something that appeals to every taste.

For those seeking an eye-catching sparkle, this ring is the ideal candidate. Set into a simple claw châton, the luminous cushion sapphire is allowed to shine, contrasting beautifully with the bright platinum. Viewed from the side, the magnificent details of the diamond-encrusted basket become clear, forming a floral border around the sapphire.

Made famous by adorning the wrist of Sean Connery’s James Bond, the Rolex Submariner is one of the most iconic watches on the market. The diving watch appearing here was produced around 1955, and is finished with a leather band and pin buckle. The face has a painted index, patinated hands and central seconds, and the dial, case and movement are signed.

Made by Mario Buccellati, this ring bracelet epitomises vintage glamour. Created in the 1960s, the bracelet is made of gold foliage arranged around a stunning 26 carat emerald cabochon. Each leaf is adorned with a sapphire set in silver, adding small flashes of blue that wonderfully complement the light emerald.

Made in the 1940s, this 'Meteore' brooch is formed of offset rows of sapphires, citrines and rose-cut diamonds set into a frame of yellow and white gold. Surmounted by a large rectangular citrine, the brooch takes on an abstract geometric form. Although the shape is simple, the colours and creative angles make it a very striking piece.

Made by Omega in the 1940s, this lady’s bonnet watch is a stunning vintage timepiece. The dial is hidden behind a diamond-encrusted hood, and the case is surrounded by rectangular citrines. The bracelet is double-braided yellow gold with a single Omega logo buckle, and the dial, case and mechanical movement are signed.

Attributed to Zolotas, this 'Aries' ring is essentially a miniature, wearable sculpture. The band winds around the finger, ending with a ram’s head of chiseled 18 karat yellow gold. The details of the ram are exquisite, and its facial features as well as the texture of its horns and wool are all clearly visible.

Created for Cartier by Verger Freres in the 1960s, this ring bracelet is a tasteful and elegant accessory. The 18 karat gold band is set with a line of brilliant-cut diamonds and intermittently 'wrapped' with gold, highlighted by small diamonds. The bracelet is signed and numbered, and embossed with a maker’s mark.
Tajan’s 'Fine Jewellery' sale and the 'Watches' sale will both occur on 8 December. The full catalogues are available on their website, and online bidding has begun.
