Lots Road’s forthcoming sale on 27 January is replete with contemporary and modern design furniture and fittings, such as antiques, mirrors, lighting, rugs and carpets. Nothing says classic like Chanel, however this 2014 tote bag takes a spin on the typical Chanel look.
With dark denim canvas material, this bag is ideal for quick weekend getaways or for transporting slightly larger items around. It has a blue front logo with ‘31 rue Cambon - Paris’ printed beneath, a gentle reminder of where it all began: in 1910, Gabrielle Chanel opened her hat shop, ‘Chanel Modes’, at 12 rue Cambon, right in the heart of Paris. As she soon gained recognition for her talents as a hat-maker, she rightly decided she needed larger premises. In 1918, she acquired the entire building at number 31. It was here that the concept of the modern boutique was invented.
Back to the bag, it also features silverstone hardware with interwoven white fabric chain and leather top handles, and a snap closure with blue fabric lining.
