Named after the panther, the animal which has become synonymous with Cartier, this piece is truly dazzling. Like Cartier's luxury watches and jewellery, the panther has become a timeless icon, reflecting the brand's elegance.

Just as Coco Chanel had done with her N°5 perfume and the 2.55 bag, in 2000 the fashion house created the J12, a timeless piece of watch craftsmanship. First introduced in 2000, the ceramic watch was inspired sailing and seafare. As the little black bag had done before it, the J12 took a simple material - in this case ceramic - and created a couture icon.

The Rolex Prince is one of the lesser known designs by the watch giant, you'd even be forgiven for thinking this was not a Rolex at all. The first Prince watches were made by Rolex back in 1928, 23 years after Hans Wilsdorf founded the company. With their large and loud seconds sub-dial, the watches became a favourite with doctors, as they could use them to time respiration or to check a pulse. There are five models of the Prince, all have a rectangular case, audible seconds sub-dial and an Art Deco inspired design.

All pieces featured are part of John Pye's timed online auction ending on 23rd December, 2016. The sale features a selection of luxury watches including Rolex, Cartier and Omega as well as diamond jewellery. Check out more here.
