If you’re looking for silver, be it a gift, a collectors’ item, or something for yourself, then you’ll need to visit The Silver Vaults London

Nestled beneath Chancery Lane, The London Silver Vaults offers the largest retail selection of silver – both antique and contemporary – in the world. The Vaults is a unique underground shopping destination (located five levels below ground) boasting more than thirty specialist shops. These shops offer jewellery, antiques, tableware, cutlery, clocks, figurines and more, and each shop is a treasure trove of exquisite and beautifully-crafted antique and modern silver, dating from the early 1600s to the present day.

The Vaults, a 5-minute walk from Chancery Lane Tube station and a 10-minute walk from Holborn Tube station, originally opened in 1876 as a safe deposit for the wealthy, and was then used as a secure storage place for London’s silver dealers during World War II.

Today, it is the home of the world’s finest silver. All of the Vault owners are independent retailers – many being third generation family businesses – with expert knowledge and rich history.

The Vaults are open from 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday, and 9am to 1pm on Saturdays. Many of the shops not only sell silver but also buy it. Most dealers are able to take all forms of credit and debit cards, cash, cheques and BACS, and various dealers are also qualified to provide valuations for insurance purposes or probate.

Whether you’re after silver, or simply visiting the capital and are after a unique shopping experience, then The London Silver Vaults is an absolute gem which shouldn’t be missed.
