Discover magnificent jewellery and luxury accessories at the French auction house Tajan from 4 December. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to spot the objects you covet before Tajan’s upcoming week of sales. Certain lots have already caught our attention, each of which will undoubtedly make the ideal gift if you want to give to a person dear to your heart, or simply to please yourself.
The number of jewellery pieces in the catalogue is so large that the sale will take place over two days, 7 and 8 December.

Among these sublime jewels are many extraordinary gems. The most remarkable is undoubtedly an oval ruby of 5.98 carats from Burma. The impressive quality and size of the ruby make it an exceptional stone that’s very rare to find nowadays.
For lovers of precious stones who prefer them already set, there are a few jewels right for you, including a spectacular yellow cold 8.02 carat solitaire diamond ring, and another ring adorned with an 8.76 carat Kashmir sapphire, whose deep blue sparkle is enhanced by an entourage of brilliant-cut diamonds.

It’s also worth pointing out a large brooch-pendant, created in the neo-Renaissance and titled ‘La Toilette de Vénus’. It is signed by François-Désiré Froment-Meurice and dates from 1855. With the richness of its decoration, this incredible brooch presents in its centre a pink topaz which illustrates a scene surrounded by white enamel and pink-cut diamonds. Venus sits at the top against a background of enamelled reed shells. She is surrounded by angelic musicians and winged sirens.
Some designer jewellery will also be presented, including a suite of three wavy bracelets by Pierre Sterlé, and an incredible bells and chains bracelet by René Boivin.

Watch enthusiasts won’t miss out since part of the sales will be devoted exclusively to this category. One exceptional lot is a Rolex Submariner diving watch produced for COMEX, manufactured around 1987. This watch has a steel bracelet while its round case is decorated with a crown, engraved with the words ‘Rolex-Comex-6226’. This undeniably modern style of watch will be sold with its box and a certificate of origin.

Patek Philippe's Ellipse TV Screen, dating from the 1970s, is a watch of an entirely different style: the case is simple, cushion-shaped with a crown adorned with the Cross of Calatrava. The dial is Sigma blue, which matches the yellow-gold bracelet perfectly. It is this ‘fish scale’ bracelet with its Calatrava Cross logo buckle that brings out the elegant simplicity of this watch.
Two other Patek Philippe watches are also in the sale, one is a refined wristwatch, made of yellow gold on leather and featuring a round case. The other is a ‘Coq Chantecler’ pocket watch.
Finally, the rest of the lots will focus on fashion, in particular vintage pieces – objects likely to please loved ones for the Christmas holidays.

A chic object in this category is a Louis Vuitton linen secretary trunk dating from the 1920s: it is in monogram-coated canvas with a beech slat reinforcement. The lock is made of solid brass and there is a laundry basket and four storage drawers. This trunk has been cleaned and restored, so it can be used as is. It is a unique and state-of-the-art object, waiting to experience a second life.

As for fashion accessories, several branded bags including an Hermès caught our attention. The Paris Kelly 28 saddle bag in black box calfskin is timeless with its chic, no-frills design. It has a padlock with keys and a small bell and zipper. It will match any look no matter what.
Another accessory not to be missed is a small, classic Chanel flap bag complete in its iconic appearance, with its quilted black leather and gold metal elements, including the famous crossed CCs.
Luxury lovers will congregate on 7, 8 and 14 December at Tajan.
