New world records, intense bidding battles and many outstanding results were achieved at Bukowskis' so-called Quality Auction of Contemporary Art & Design.

Although middle-of-the-range items were not always the most popular, the most expensive works continue to find buyers, and the auction offered several high hammer prices for works by Karin Mamma Andersson, Rolf Hanson, Keith Haring and Christo & Jeanne-Claude, among others.

Above all, Ulla Wiggen's 1968 work Sender was the star of the auction. The painting was recently exhibited in Switzerland at the Museum Tinguely. It was sold for SEK 520,000 (about £40,420), well above the estimate of SEK 150,000-200,000 (about £11,660-15545), setting a new world record for the artist.

Lars Lerin, an A-list artist in Sweden, also set a new record with the painting Hemtrakter sold for the same amount (before fees) as a previous sale of his at Uppsala Auktionskammare. In this auction, his work doubled its estimate and was sold for SEK 620,000 (£48,187). Thanks to higher fees, the final price set a new world record for the popular artist.

Graphic and print artists also performed very well as a whole, with artists such as Keith Haring, Frank Stella and David Hockney fetching high prices for their works.

When it came to the design works, there was a lot of general interest, but Jonas Bohlin's limited edition of the sculptural armchair Concrete attracted the most interest, and the final price climbed up to SEK 250,000 (£19,430) plus commission.
