This Friday 25 October, Kent-based Martello Philatelic Auctions are putting on a sale of nearly 600 lots, which gives stamp collectors and enthusiasts the chance to snap up the rare, the expensive, the exciting – and the everything in between.

First up is this example of Great Britain postal history. This lot is an early Event covers, with many FDC’s from Edward VIII to QEII. 1948 Silver Wedding (plain) 1948 Olympics (2), 1940 Centenary (4) 1953 Coronation (2) 1890 Jubilee are included.

Another example of Great Britain postal history is this 1840 Southgate No 1 Mulready Caricature used 25 June 1840. It features a Paid Penny mark on the front.

An Austrian example, this is a 1933 International Philatelic Exhibition, Vienna (WIPA), superb miniature sheet with three special handstamps in bottom margin dated on the first date of issue, SG MS705.

We move east now to China, with this beautiful 1964 Chinese Peonies 2y mini sheet, unused, ultra scarce SG MS9199a.

It should also be noted, the auction not only encompasses stamps but also other collectables, such as this Elvis Presley signed promotional photo for Love Me Tender. The photo is signed in black, dedicated to Natalie, and comes with Buckingham Certificate

The comedy duo known as The Two Ronnies were – and continue to be – immensely popular in British culture (particularly in the 1970s and ‘80s, when their show ran). You can own a part of that history with this Ronnie Barker and Ronnie Corbett signed Buckingham Covers 50th years of the Radio Times, limited edition cover, signed shortly before Barker’s sad death in 2005.

And finally, let’s not forget about coin collectors. This 1775 coin is Austro Hungary Transylvania Gold 2 Ducat, 6.97g in excellent condition.
