On Thursday 28 April, hundreds of exciting pieces will be offered at auction at Norrlands Auktionsverk. In the catalogue, you’ll find everything from Moomin mugs and stoneware figures to gold jewellery and musical instruments. Here are our favourites!
Bertil Vallien, Halbbåt sculpture, 2000s

First up is the Swedish glass artist Bertil Vallien and his sculpture Halbbåt (Half Boat). The 70-cm high and almost 18-kg-heavy sculpture is made of sand-cast glass mass with an internal figure application and stands on a marble plinth.
Alessandro Pianon, Pulcino figurine, 1960s

Another famous glass artist is the Italian Alessandro Pianon. Shown here is his coveted bird Pulcino, made by Vetreria Vistosi in the 1960s. The figure is made of orange glass mass with murrine décor and legs made of copper.
Meissen, The Three Fates sculpture group, 1800s

In the catalogue, you will also find a beautiful sculpture group from the nineteenth century, made by Meissen. The work, titled The Three Fates, was made after a model by Johann Joachim Kändler. The auction copy is made of porcelain with polychrome painted and gilded décor.
