Hundreds of exciting items will be on offer when Helander Auktioner holds their ‘Design Auction’ on 28 April. Modern furniture, jewellery, silver and glass objects will appear as well as art of all kinds. Discover a few star lots from the auction below.
Wooden Monkey, Kay Bojesen for Kay Bojesen Denmark

Kay Bojesen first worked as a silversmith before switching to woodworking, and his most iconic piece is this playful wooden monkey. Launched in 1951, the monkey was created for a children's furniture exhibition and was intended to function as a clothes hanger. Today, Bojesen's wooden monkey is a beloved classic that is appreciated by young and old alike.
Serving Trolley, Alvar Aalto for Artek

The serving trolley (model 900) offered at Helander Auktioner was designed in 1937 by Alvar Aalto for Artek. The trolley's elegant design and clean lines represents the very best in modern furniture design, and it has been a sought-after design piece in both Scandinavian and international homes since its launch.
Muutoksia, Tove Jansson, 1968

Finland's most beloved artist, Tove Jansson, will also appear in the catalogue. She is represented with two oil paintings from the 1960s, including the abstract work Muutoksia (or Muuttuminen), or 'changes' in English. Earlier this year, Tove Jansson's 1945 painting Katajanokalta set a record for the artist when it sold for €108,000 (approximately £93,650) at Helander Auktioner. Whether Muutoksia will break the record again remains to be seen.
