When it comes to purchasing jewels, whether as a gift for yourself or a loved one, it’s hard to go wrong. Bracelets, rings, necklaces, brooches; diamonds, emeralds, sapphires, rubies: they all say quality, thoughtfulness, care and love.
On 28 November, UK auction house Elstob & Elstob is rounding up the very best in jewels and gems in their Jewellery auction, which comprises more than 420 beautiful pieces. Here are our 6 favourite pieces from the sale.
6. Silver and Amethyst Bracelet

At the affordable end of the sale, this silver and amethyst bracelet makes a statement without breaking budget. The exquisite bracelet features oval amethyst cabochons that are collet-mounted with beaded borders, each approx. 17mm long, with half-covered backs. All are set in unmarked white metal (test as silver), with lobster claw clasp.
5. Platinum Diamond Solitaire Ring

This dazzling ring, perhaps suitable for any upcoming engagements one might have planned, features a round, brilliant-cut diamond, estimated at approx. 2.90 carats. Its colour is I-J with clarity estimated at SI 1. The diamond is set in a four-claw mount with plain band stamped ‘PT 950’ with Birmingham assay mark.
4. Diamond-set Fringe Necklace

This statement necklace in a bib design has a graduated fringe of drop and circular-shaped clusters of brilliant-cut diamonds, approx. 10 carats total. The necklace has a length of 44 cm and gross weight of 46.5 grams.
3. Belle Epoque Emerald and Diamond Necklace

Another necklace, this time from the Belle Epoque, this piece has an exquisite and intricate design. At the centre is a pear-shaped emerald, a pale-mid grassy green with translucency, measuring approx 13.7 x 10.8 x 3.4 mm, in a millegrain mount and suspended within a frame of old-cut diamonds. Set to either side of the emerald is two graduated upswept diamond-set fronds, the total weight of diamonds estimated at 2.99 carats, all set in unmarked white metal (tests at 18ct white gold) on an 18ct box link chain with clasp.
2. Tanzanite and Diamond Ring

A beautiful deep blue, this tanzanite is estimated at approx. 9 carats. It is set in a ring with emerald-cut diamonds either side, each bright and tapered with baguette-cut shoulders, making a total weight of 2.46 carats.
1. Platinum Diamond Halo Bracelet

Finally, our top pick from the sale is this platinum diamond halo bracelet. It features round brilliant-cut diamonds set with a diamond halo and diamond-set semicircles to either side with short diamond links. The total weight of diamonds is estimated at approx. 6.67 carats, all set in platinum and stamped ‘PT900’ to the reverse. It is 18cm long and accompanied with 11 GIA certificates, one for each of the principal diamonds.
