This is the fourth year of the Talented Art Fair, and its success is only growing. The highly anticipated event brings together one hundred skilled and sought-after contemporary artists, offering thousands of original works up for sale as well as limited edition prints. Taking place across 6-8 March 2020, the fair also features live painting, music, and a full bar alongside the artists who are the heart and soul of the event.

Talented is very popular among buyers and collectors, and for good reason – it offers the chance to discover both established and emerging artists from Britain and from around the world and to support them directly. This gives a personal connection and valuable insight that otherwise would not exist. Additionally, there is a price cap of £5,000 placed on individual artworks, with most original pieces priced between £300-1,500. This is not only a wonderful opportunity for investment, but also means that buying art is affordable as well as enjoyable.

The brains behind the operation are Leah Michelle and Oliver Norris, or Lemon art (Leah Michelle and Oliver Norris). The duo also founded the highly popular New Artist Fair in 2011, with the aim of providing new artists with a platform to step into the competitive London art market. Having successfully curated exhibitions and fairs for six years, Leah and Oliver recognised a gap in the market. Even with the ever-growing popularity of art fairs, they found there wasn’t one that addressed the specific needs of artists, with no fair offering a sales track or even gallery representation for those who wanted to introduce their works directly to the public in London. Thus, the Talented Art Fair was born.

Talented bridges the gap between artists and clients by offering an inspiring and affordable place to purchase art directly from artists, in a friendly and laid-back environment. In doing so, the fair provides chances for genuine interaction, allowing buyers more intimate insights into the pieces they are interested in and letting artists network with collectors and establish personal relationships.

This year, one hundred artists will be represented at the Talented Art Fair. Those exhibiting consist of a wide variety of highly collectable contemporary artists, some of whom are well-established while others are still beginning their careers. Most have a Master’s degree in their specific field, and many are represented by galleries. Although their technical qualifications vary, the entire group is exceptionally gifted and highly promising.

Each year, one artist is chosen at the Talented Artist of the Year, based on a combination of their individual merit as well as their success at the fair. The previous winners are John Ball, also a finalist in Sky Arts’ Landscape Artist of the Year, in 2019; Martin Turner (Art Salon, Bath) in 2018; and Vincent Kamp (Clarendon Fine Art, Mayfair) in 2017. With so many exceptional artists this year, only time will tell who will be crowned for outstanding achievement.

The Talented Art Fair will be taking place at the iconic Truman Brewery at Ely’s Yard, off Hanbury Street in London. Located between Brick Lane and Spitalfields Market, it is the perfect opportunity to explore artistic destinations in the surrounding neighborhoods as well. Tickets for the Private View from 5pm-9pm on Friday, 6 March are available for purchase on Eventbrite, and registration is open for free admission from 12pm-6.30pm on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 March.
