On 19 May, Helander Auktioner will hold their ‘Nostalgia and Vintage’ club auction. Hundreds of objects will be offered and in the catalogue you'll find everything from art and design to porcelain and silver objects. Here are three highlights you don't want to miss!
Raija Uosikkinen for Arabia, Kalevala plates

Raija Uosikkinen was one of Finland's foremost decorators and during her years at Arabia glassworks in Helsinki, she created hundreds of different patterns. Some of her most famous works are her collector's plates with motifs inspired by the epic poem Kalevala. These were in production from 1974 until 1999, and each year a new plate was launched in a limited edition.
Oiva Toikka for Notsjö, Esplanadi art glass

Oiva Toikka was a prolific designer who worked with well-known designers and artists, both in Finland and abroad. At Helander Auktioner you'll find the decorative art glass Esplanadi, in clear glass with relief decoration, designed for Notsjö glassworks during the end of the twentieth century.
Akseli Gallen Kallela, painting, 1912

The Finnish painter Akseli Gallen Kallela was one of Finland's foremost artists, and his imagery is often naturalistic, symbolic and expressionist. This painting from 1912 depicts a serious man; it is perhaps the artist himself who is depicted on the canvas.
