Pink diamonds are incredibly rare and highly coveted, making it unsurprising that a ring like this is hitting headlines. On 6 November, Phillips will host The Geneva Jewels Auction: ONE, featuring a striking Fancy Intense Pink diamond ring valued at CHF 10-15 million (£9 - 13.5 million). Weighing 20.19 carats, this gem stands as Phillips' most valuable offering to date and ranks as the fourth largest Fancy Intense Pink diamond ever brought to auction.

Pink diamonds fall under the category of coloured diamonds. The diamonds vary in hues, with pink, blue, red, and green being among the most exceptionally rare and prized. Pink diamonds are thought to originate from distortions in the crystal lattice of the diamond, a result of intense heat and great pressure following the stone's formation within the Earth.

Apart from the exceptional pink diamond, other coloured diamonds, including a Fancy Intense Yellow diamond ring (54.27 ct), a Very Light Blue diamond ring (1.33 ct), and a Fancy Intense Blue diamond ring (0.72 carat) will also go on sale on 6 November.
